The Shropshire Village Halls Quiz

The Shropshire Village Halls Quiz was promoted by Shropshire County Council over 30 years’ ago with a view to encouraging the use of village halls, particularly to provide entertainment and enjoyable evenings. Teams of four from village halls across Shropshire compete once a month on a Friday evening from October to March. They come together in April for the Final when trophies are presented to the winning teams. Teams are placed into one of four sections – A, B, C or D – depending on where the hall is, this avoids undue travelling time. Round one was last Friday at Caynham. Rita and Barry Preston, Judy and Trevor Sheard represented the Village Hall and came a respectable fifth – the scores were very close. They might not have won the quiz but they were lucky with the raffle: wine and chocolates! We hope that the Village Hall at Norbury will host one of the evenings next year and will no doubt be asking for volunteers to help on the night!
