Talk Time – Autumn / Winter Programme

Returning after the Summer break, and now on the first Wednesday of every month, the following talks start at 7.15 for 7.30 pm, cost £3.00 per person and include refreshments with home-made goodies. All welcome.

September 6th – Mathemagical ! – You may have thought that mathematics was all about equations and triangles, but not so. There’s another beautiful side that involves maths in art and design, maths in nature, maths in magical trickery – and more. Come on a hands-on mathemagical journey that will expand your horizons – and bring a simple calculator if you have one. (John Eden)

October 4th – The Art of Joan Hassall – One of the foremost wood engravers of the 20th Century and visual look at some of her work. You’ll be amazed and you’ve probably got some of her work in your Classic Books collection. (Len Williams)

November 8th – An Introduction to Turner and his Art – A guide through Turner’s art and an introduction to his life & development (Richie Self)
